It is always an honor and a thrill to share these things that I create because in my mind WHILE I create, although it comes from an intense personal, internal, and secret life, there is also an imaginary audience that I long to share with.

Musical Snapshots {ˈdisənəns}
This is music I composed for Michael Singh‘s yet to be released documentary film Valentino’s Ghost. Having gone to Hollywood High School, the image of Rudolph Valentino’s sheik is something close to my heart and very familiar to me because the sheik was the school’s mascot. In those days the image of the sheik and the romance of the arab world was a thing of beauty. In this film, director Michael Singh, examines the transformation of the image from mystic to terrorist.
It was a pleasure to work on the music, which I created from samples and found objects such as national anthems, world voice samples, and clay pots. I would like to dedicate the music to my brother Daoud al Ynda.
This main piece, MACROni, was recorded at home on my iPhone and assembled in Garageband. It was commissioned by GroundLift.org for a macro (hence the name) slideshow featuring insects. Best listened to with headphones on. More music to come, more frequently. hi! xLisa
If you have somehow stumbled across this website….yes, it’s me, Lisa. This will be the not so secret landing page for my piano improvs and other work coming soon. Renata and I are just getting started to pull together all the pieces and make my piano improvs, other works and fun stuff available here. It will be a few more weeks or a couple months, but in between working on our real life and other shananigans, we are on it! when we have some things ready we will send up a flare to let you know.
